Feature

Receipts on every message: sent, delivered, read, played

Three-state check indicator with timestamps. Per-recipient breakdown in group chats. Same icons WhatsApp uses.

The four receipt states

Sent: message left your device. Delivered: receiver's device acknowledged. Read: receiver opened the chat. Played: voice notes specifically, set when the receiver hit play. Chat Hoarding app renders the same single/double check icons WhatsApp uses, plus a microphone glyph for played voice notes.

Per-recipient timestamps in groups

In a group chat, WhatsApp's UI hides the per-recipient receipt detail behind a long-press. Chat Hoarding app exposes the underlying receipt_user rows directly: one row per recipient, with the four state timestamps. The popover sorts by progress (read > delivered > nothing).

Why this matters for any record

Disputes about 'I never read that' or 'I didn't receive it on time' often hinge on the per-recipient receipt detail. Native screenshots strip these. Chat Hoarding keeps every receipt row WhatsApp stored. Whether a given archive is treated as evidence in a specific legal or workplace process depends on the rules of that process; Chat Hoarding preserves the underlying data, not the legal standing.

FAQ

  • What about messages where WhatsApp never received a receipt?

Receipts are best-effort. If the recipient was offline for a long time or has read receipts disabled, the receipt simply isn't there, and Chat Hoarding app renders the same 'not yet' state WhatsApp does.
