Install Chat Hoarding on your Mac for decryption + browsing. Install the companion APK on the Android phone whose WhatsApp backup you want to archive. Both are signed; both update via their respective channels.

Sideload only. Enable Install unknown apps in Android settings for your browser, then open the APK.

After install

On Android: install the Chat Hoarding for Android APK
Side-load the APK from the button above. Grant All-Files access so Chat Hoarding for Android can scan WhatsApp folders. No INTERNET permission, verifiable in the manifest.

Locate + share the backup
Tap Locate. The companion finds WhatsApp + WhatsApp Business backups. Pick the share mode (zip with media, chats only, raw .crypt15, or USB MTP).

On Mac: open Chat Hoarding
Drop the zip on the window (or pick the .crypt15 file directly). Paste your 64-digit encryption key. Everything runs locally.

Browse → Save Archive
Verify a couple of conversations look right. Hit Save Archive → produces a .tarc file. Double-click to reopen any time.

Activate (any time)
Settings → License → paste the license key from your purchase email (or grab it any time at /account → Billing).
Verify the download
SHA-256 checksums
Confirm the binary hasn't been tampered with in transit. The in-app auto-updater verifies a separate EdDSA signature in addition.
